Join us on Thursday the 30th of January from 9.30am for an exclusive presentation and tasting session in the company of Meheret of Tomorrows Coffee and Dehab (via live call) of Dahab Specialty Farm in Kaffa, Ethiopia.

Enter Tomorrows, a new small-business importer focusing on Ethiopian produce and empowering communities, led by Meheret Zerai.

Tomorrows mainly import coffee direct from Kaffa in Ethiopia, a south westerly zone which borders Sidamo (home to most Cup of Excellence lots) to the east, and the country of Sudan to the west. If you are in touch with your coffee history, you will be aware that Kaffa is very often considered to be the birthplace of Arabica Coffee, which adds to the already captivating story behind the beans.

The farm behind the beans is Dahab speciality Farm, which was founded in 2014 and still operated by Mrs Dehab Mesfin. As dedicated farmers, they understand that bountiful harvests are linked to the generosity in which they sow and their utmost dedication to those who toil on it. Their offerings are not just mere commodities, but a manifestation of their profound love for humanity and a tangible representation of the transformation they aspire to inspire you.

Dahab Specialty Farm is located at the buffer zone of the UNESCO registered Kaffa Biosphere Reserve (KBR), and their farming practices impact positively not only to the environment and biodiversity, but to those farming the land as well. When Dehab Mesfin founded the farm, she wanted to be able to focus on empowering women farmers, who do most of the hard work, and so made it possible for modern beekeeping which not only improved the coffee farming, but diversified the biosphere and the income received by workers.

Currently on offer are three natural lots made up of 74110 and 74112 JARC varieties, both are locally selected subvarieties of Ethiopia ‘Heirloom’, specially selected in 1974 for their disease resistance properties. These coffees, grade 1, 2 and 3, have very distinctive citrus and floral forward notes that are derivative of the Kaffa terroir and perfect for any calibre of coffee offering.

At this experience, learn about the work that Meheret and Dehab are doing, then sample fresh crop coffees across Natural, Honey and Anaerobic processes as well as the current spot offerings. As a very special treat, Meheret will also be sampling two types of Ethiopian Bee Honey, Ethiopian Cascara and Lemongrass from the farms!
